Leadership is about the art of motivating, influencing, and directing people so that they
work together to achieve the goals of a team or broader organisation. It’s important for

students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling to learn the art
of building relationships within teams, defining identities, and achieving tasks effectively. It
also provides an opportunity to learn to identify and display effective communication and

interpersonal skills. There is a leader in every classroom, and it doesn’t take long to figure
out who that person is. In fact, you can typically predict who this child is going to be before
you even set foot in the classroom, and they are usually the first ones mentionable to you

by other instructors before you even enter the room.

              Story Corner

In a beautiful village there lived a young boy with his
parents. He was addicted to eating sugar. His mother

warned him several times not to eat sugar as it was
bad for his health, but he did not listen.

After some days, his mother decided to get help
from Gandhiji. So she took him to the place where

Gandhiji lived. The journey was long and she had to
walk miles in hot weather conditions. She then finally

reached the place and met Gandhiji. She requested
him to teach her son to stop eating sugar as it was
bad for his health. Gandhiji replied, “I cannot tell him
right now. But you can bring him back after a month

and then I will speak to him.”

Hearing this, the mother was confused and upset that Gandhiji did not offer any solution.
Both the mother and the son went back home.

After a month, they met Gandhiji again.
