Freedom fighters fought for the country at all possible levels,

              My duty is to preserve culture, heritage, and natural resources;

              I will fight against dowry, corruption, and other social evils,

              For the protection of sovereignty, unity, and other binding forces.

                   It’s my duty to promote harmony and the spirit of brotherhood,

                   And developing science and humanism is the duty of every citizen;

                   We strive for excellence in our country through the good,

                   Let us fulfill our duties and enjoy our rights as a noble citizen.

                  Read the poem carefully. Write how you can be more dutiful as a citizen of India.

                  Also mention two ways in which you can do the same in your school campus.

              India in 1976—in addition to creating and promoting culture, also strengthen the hands of

              the legislature in enforcing these duties.

              The list of 11 Fundamental Duties under Article 51A to be obeyed by every Indian citizen
              are:

                  1. To abide by the Indian Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the

                      National Flag and the National Anthem.

                  2. To cherish and follow the noble ideals that inspired the national struggle for freedom.

                  3. To uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.

                  4. To defend the country and render national service when called upon to do so.
