Amy: It’s the Internet that helps me find out information about things I don’t know. So
according to me the Internet is an ocean of information.

Aryan: Thank you, Amy. Maybe I should ask mummy, too.

Aryan went into the balcony.

Aryan: Mummy, can you tell me how media helps you? I am doing research for my project.

Mummy: Oh... let me think. I do love watching movies, listening to music, and reading
books. That’s the way I relax after work. Isn’t that media, too?

Aryan: Yes, it is! Wow! So media provides us with entertainment, too!

Mummy: Oh, here comes your father; go and ask him, too.

Aryan: Dad, do you use media for anything? Is it useful to you?

Dad: Media keeps me connected with my colleagues. It is my social networking system.

Aryan: What’s that, dad?

Dad: Aryan it helps me stay connected with my office staff and friends via email, WhatsApp,
online conferences, etc. It provides ease in sending and receiving information and database.

Aryan: Everyone had a different view, but I guess all of them were right. Media does a lot
of things! It is so powerful.

POSITIVE EFFECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON EDUCATION

Social media has made the world a smaller place. Now we have more information, more
knowledge, and better opportunities to use it. Social media has improved our ability to

absorb information. Something that would have seemed to be overwhelming to someone
20 years ago is now normal to us. We have extreme ease in processing information and we
