Yoga is a holistic approach that helps establish a balance between the mind, body, and
soul. You should practice yoga to keep yourself disciplined, calm, focussed, and more
importantly, to maintain your emotional stability.
LION POSE (SIMHASANA)
The ‘Lion Pose’ is a seated yoga posture that includes a specific form of Pranayama or
breathwork called lion’s breath. This pose is known as Simhasana in Sanskrit, which
literally translates to ‘lion’ (Simha) and ‘pose’ (asana), a nod to how a yogi resembles
a lion when performing this pose.
STEPS OF THE LION POSE
Kneel down so you’re sitting on your knees.

Spread your palms on the floor, your fingers facing backwards.
l
l Roll your eyes up and focus between your eyebrows.
l Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale quickly from your mouth wide open and tongue sticking out.
l
Relax into the starting position when you run out of breath.
l
