Read the interview.
Take a partner who would be Mr Jain and you, the interviewer. Conduct an interview on the basis
of the given extract and continue the dialogue. Remember that the reporter has to be sceptical
and ask searching questions to which Mr Jain has to give a convincing response. Play out the
characters correctly.
Interviewer : I have heard you have a very unusual job.
Mr Jain : That’s right.
Interviewer : So, what do you do?
Mr Jain : Well, I’m investigating the Chambal Monster. Every day I go to the forest and
wait for the monster to appear.
Interviewer : Have you ever seen the monster?
Mr Jain : Yes, I have. It was very foggy and I tried to take a photograph, but unfortunately
my camera didn’t work.
Interviewer : Do you think you’ll see it again?
Mr Jain : I might see it again if I’m lucky.
