Sentences
Read the following group of words.
saw aman lion a yesterday.
Aman saw a lion yesterday.
In both the groups, the same words have been used, but the first group does not make a
complete sense. The second group of words makes a complete sense, so we call it sentence.
A sentence has three features:
• It usually contains a subject (noun) and a verb.
• It expresses a statement, a question, or an order.
• A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop (.), a question mark (?),
or an exclamation mark (!).
So, the correct way to write the above sentence will be: Aman saw a lion yesterday.
