the pond and said to the old man, “Sir, I have taken out all the stars from your pond.” The
people saw that when the water from the pond came out, it dried up, and thus the stars
disappeared. The old man was very impressed with the intelligence and hard work of this
boy and gave him his field as a reward. The boy’s out-of-the-box thinking earned him that.
If you were Danish how would you have found a way to take out the stars?

Creative Thinking vs. Critical Thinking
Creative thinking and critical thinking are two expressions that reveal the difference
between them when it comes to their deeper meanings. Creative thinking is going beyond
limitations and being fresh and original in one’s ideas. Critical thinking, on the other hand, is
more evaluative in nature and analyses a particular situation. Hence, one can conclude that
while creative thinking is generative in purpose, critical thinking is analytical. This is one of
the main differences between them.
Importance of Critical Thinking
Critical thinking is the ability to analyse the way you think and present evidence for your
ideas rather than simply accepting your personal reasoning as sufficient proof. You can
gain numerous benefits from mastering critical thinking skills such as better control of
your own learning and empathy for others’ points of view. Critical thinking is, in short,
self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored, and self-corrective thinking. It entails effective
communication and problem-solving abilities.
Benefits of Critical Thinking
1. Critical thinking is a valuable skill for students to master—from solving problems in
class assignments to facing real world situations.
2. It teaches a variety of skills that can be applied to any situation in life that calls for
reflection, analysis, and planning.
