girls. At first she resisted meeting them properly, but when Sarah’s mother mediated, she
became more gratifying to her friends.
All three girls went and sat in Sarah’s room. They asked Sarah why she was behaving that
way and why she hadn’t spoken to them the entire day.
Sarah told them everything and said that she was
very hurt and upset. Priya and Agnes were shocked
to hear what Sarah had told them.
Then they explained to her that all this was a lie and
Shrishti was just jealous of their friendship, which
is why she had tried to create a rift between them.
They told Sarah that she shouldn’t let other people
get to her and allow them to affect such a close
friendship. She shouldn’t get carried away easily by what others say. On the contrary, she
should communicate clearly her fears, thoughts, misunderstandings, and feelings because
clear and effective communication is the key behind resolving all disputes. They also taught
her that words are magical and have the power to change so much. If she had talked to
them clearly instead of holding a grudge in silence, she could have saved herself so much
heartache all day-long.
In the end, they all did a group hug and planned to have a sleepover at Sarah’s place. They
were glad to have each other’s backs as good friends again.
If you were in Sarah’s place, would you have communicated with your friends?

Poor communication is the main reason why students lack motivation, perform badly,
and consequently, drop out of school. According to many studies, the success of students
is directly related to the effective communication of their teachers. The nurturing of
this kind of interactive and engaging teaching learning environment demands regular and
effective communication.
