•  ‘The’ is called the definite article. We use ‘the’ when we talk about a particular or definite
                          person or  thing. For example:
                          A dog ran after me. The dog was mad.
                          The lady in the blue saree is my aunt.
                       •  We  use  ‘the’  before  names  of  rivers,  seas,  oceans,  mountain  ranges,  holy  books,  trains,
                          newspaper, famous buildings, ships. For example:

                          The Bible is a holy book of Christians.
                          The Times of India is a famous newspaper.
                       •  ‘The’ is also used before superlative degrees and the things that are only one of their kind.
                          For example:
                          Sameer is the tallest boy in the class.      The Earth is the only planet that has life.

                         Fill in the blanks with ‘a’, ‘an’ or ‘the’.

                    II.  Kinds of Sentences

                       A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought and has a verb and a
                       subject.

                       I was asked to write a story.

                       This is a sentence because it expresses a complete thought.
                       Filled with mystery-n-magic

                       This is not a complete thought, so it is not a sentence.
