trees after the storm?” asked Wind, “Can you shatter
trees and houses like I do?”
“No, but I make plants and trees grow,” said Sun.
“But that does not mean you are very strong, does
it?” argued Wind.
“We will never find out by quarrelling,” said Sun,
“Why don’t we have a competition to see which
one of us is stronger?”
“If you want a competition, we shall have a
competition, but let me warn you, you will certainly
lose,” said Wind.
While they were arguing, they saw a traveller walking
along the road. He was wearing a big coat.
“We can test our strength on that man,” said the Wind, “Let us see
which of us is strong enough to make him take off his coat.”
“All right,” said Sun, “The one who is strong enough to make him take off his coat will
be declared the most powerful.”
“Agreed,” said Wind puffing up his cheeks.
“See me go!” he cried and began to blow with all his might. He
puffed and he tugged at the man’s coat, but the man held on
to his coat tightly.
Wind then raised a terrible storm and the weather
became icy cold. It only made the man hold on tighter
to his coat.
Wind tried and tried, but could not make the traveller
take off the coat.

shone on the man with all his power.
Soon, the man began to sweat.
