Balu said that since the bat belonged to him, he
would go for batting first.
The children agreed. So, Balu batted and Neeru bowled.
Balu was having great fun batting but when his turn
was over, he did not want to give the bat to anyone else.
“Everyone should get a turn to bat,” said Neeru.
“It is my bat and I will not give it to anyone,” said Balu.
All the children were very angry.
“You can keep your silly bat,” said Manish.
“Let us go and play something else,” said Radha.
And they all went off to play
catching-catching.
Balu stood there all alone with
his bat.
He wished he had listened to
his mother. It was no fun having
something nice if you did not
have anyone to share it with. He
returned home feeling very sad.
