“Ah! These are wheat grains,” she said to herself. And called out to her friends,
“Who will help me plant the seeds?”she asked.
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will do it myself,” said the Little Red Hen. So, she dug the ground and
buried the seeds.
By and by, little wheat plants grew out of the seeds and soon they became
big and tall. After some time, they turned yellow.
“The wheat is ripe,” said the Little Red Hen.
“Who will cut the wheat?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will do it myself,” said the
Little Red Hen. So, she cut the
wheat.
When the wheat was cut, the
Little Red Hen said, “Who will
thresh the wheat?”
“Not I,” said the Duck.
“Not I,” said the Cat.
“Not I,” said the Dog.
“Then I will do it myself,” said the Little Red
Hen. So, she threshed the wheat to get the
grain.
When she got all the wheat grains, the Little Red Hen said, “Who will take
this wheat to the mill?”
